Mt. Tapyas - Coron, Palawan

Last day at Coron (Feb. 2012), I woke up early to visit Mt. Tapyas.

From your resort, walk a little until you arrive at any busy-like place and hail a tricycle. Tell the driver to take you to Mt. Tapyas (Not Mt. Tapyas Hotel).
It only takes 700+ steps. You can reach the top within 30 minutes (or less)

But the view's just average.

You can also explore the area. There are few pavilions where you can rest.

For me, this one looks more beautiful.

See this Metal Cross.

Time to go down. Best time to start “climbing”: either early in the morning or just before the sun sets.

Special mention to Sun. He and his parents were so kind to me during our island hopping. They gave me food, lent me snorkel, and gave me an unsolicited assistance. This is among the pictures that he gave me as a remembrance.

A friend of mine told me that people in Coron are kind. I guess that’s true, as there’s this one tricycle driver who was so kind enough to give me a free “city” (actually it’s a town) tour, but all I asked from him was to take me to a pasalubong store. He even took me to the best pasalubong store in town.
