Anawangin Cove (plus Capones Island), Zambales

Been here a couple of times - with different people. Perhaps my first visit was in 2010. Going here is easy. Just take a bus bound to San Antonio, Zambales from the bus station in Monumento. Drop off point is at the Central Market. Just ask any of those tricycle drivers for assistance in case you don't have any idea how to find a bangkero who will take you to Anawangin Cove.

That's Anawangin Cove! :)

The bangkero will not just take you to Anawangin. For as low as Php2,000-Php3,000 (depends on the number of pax), he'll take you to other nearby islands like Camara. If you're lucky (if the sea's calm), you can visit this light house and see the breath-taking view.

In case you can visit Zambales for at least three days, try Nagsasa Cove. I have never been there, but they said it's more beautiful than Anawangin. It's just a bit more expensive because it takes few more hours to reach the cove.

Potipot Island, Zambales



Potipot Island is one of the treasures of Zambales Philippines. Potipot came from the phrase Puti po - Puti means white and po is a short Filipino word added to make a statement polite. They said It's what the locals say in response when someone asked something about the san. (Dunno if I got this Trivia right. Learned this from the TV progrman, Trip na Trip).

Went there with two of my college friends.



Stayed at Sunbloom Resort. The price was so reasonable (should I say cheap?), but the place was nice and the people there were kind.

Just too bad we were not able to stay at that island. No camping, no tent. But at least, we had a comfy bed.
